The Catholic Church is struggling to capture the public's imagination over this month's papal visit, new opinion polls have suggested.

“A Comres poll found 79 per cent of people had “no personal interest” in the visit and 77 per cent do not think taxpayers should be paying for it.
They said that it was wrong to be expected to burden the cost of the tour around Scotland and England because the Pope is religious figure.
Taxpayers will shoulder between £10 million and £12 million of the bill for the trip. “
